Still Beating Against the Wind

The Skippers Log: Well as you can see from the forecast picture we are going down Lake Michigan from Manitowoc Wisconsin and the darn little arrows are telling us we will be going against 12 to 18 knots wind. AGAIN another day spent beating into the wind and battling 4' to 6' waves. I'm sure glad I have Gustave (our Auto-helm) to keep me company as Linda was not interested anymore and went below with a good book.  After over 7 hours our boat buddy Bliss II told us they wanted to keep going to Milwaukee which was another 4 hrs.  We decided to stop early in Port  Washington. The good news is the wind should be going in the right direction tomorrow. Wow I should be able to take the wrinkles out of the sails.  FINALLY.

  1. We are going to enjoy following your blog...and wishing we were doing it again! The best advice we got before leaving was "Remember it is a pleasure trip".

We are sorry we didn't get to meet you in LC. We are now on our way to Penetanguishene for winter storage.
