FROM THE SKIPPER'S LOG: Now for the BLUE VIEW since we left: We had a few great days alone traveling from Islands to Island doing some sailing and relaxing. I still have a few jobs on the honey do list but so far so good (at procrastinating). Linda lets me get away with it. Our plan was to be in Chicago for Sept 15th to remove the mast and ship it to Mobile Alabama. We had six boats organised to ship together from the American Great Looper Association and we managed to find a transport company to move our mast for $300 ea. A lot of thanks goes to John Grady, Bruce Nanzer and many other boat owners for making this deal come though. We have a few more days of sailing (and I use this term very lightly) as we motored most of the way from Drummond Island. We need to be in Chicago before Sept 14th so it won't cost us extra for the transport to wait for us. We are sure glad to have Gustave on board, Gustave is our Auto-helm. Linda decided to give him a Swedish name and said he has blond hair, blue eyes and a great chest. I wonder where this leaves me? As you can see we are now in Manitowoc Wisconsin waiting for the weather to clear and then we hope to visit Milwaukee in a day or two.

The important thing is to keep Gustave out of your rum supply. I had the same problem with Woody. I don't understand the chest thing...washtub or washboard?
ReplyDeleteNot a problem keeping Gustave out of the rum as it's all gone. For now. As for the chest thing, you'll have to ask Linda.
